Discover one of the most fascinating places in the Lecco area with a hike to the famous Complex of San Pietro al Monte, a true gem of Lombard Romanesque architecture.

From the village of Civate, we’ll reach the district of Pozzo, where the trail begins among woods and panoramic views. After a short stop at Crotto del Capraio, the route continues, offering picturesque views of Lakes Pusiano and Annone.

Once we arrive at the Abbey, volunteers from the Associazione Amici di San Pietro al Monte will tell us about the thousand-year history of the complex and the precious frescoes of the interior, in a blend of art, spirituality, and nature. The day ends with a shared lunch and a relaxing moment on the large lawn overlooking Monte Barro and the Lecco branch of Lake Como, before descending along the mule track that gently leads back to the starting point.

Programme

9:00 a.m. – meet at the car park in Via Roncaglio, 1, Civate (LC)

Approximately 11:30 a.m. – arrival at San Pietro al Monte

11:30 a.m./12:30 p.m. – free guided tour of the Basilica by volunteers

12:30 p.m. – packed lunch break

2:00 p.m. – start of descent

Approximately 4:00 p.m. – arrival at the car park

Cancellation policy

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of the experience. In case of cancellation, you can choose one of the following options:

– Request a discount code with the same amount of your booking that can be used to buy an experience on www.leccotourism.it within 12 months from the date of issue;

– Request a refund of 85% of the amount paid.

If you do not cancel or modify your reservation within 48 hours before the start time of the experience, the amount paid will not be refunded and the changes will not be accepted.

For canellations by the operator due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. bad weather conditions) or if the minimum number of participants will not be reached, you will be notified at least 24 hours in advance and you will receive by email a discount code for the entire amount paid.

Experiences are only confirmed once the minimum number of participants has been reached. You will receive a confirmation or cancellation email, at least within 48 hours before the planned date of the experience.
