Imagine a winter day, the fresh air caressing your face and nothing but pristine white snow all around you. Join us for a snowshoe hike in the beautiful Piani di Artavaggio, a perfect adventure for everyone, from children to adults, which will take you on a journey of discovery through an enchanted landscape at an altitude of almost 2000 meters.
We will meet at the Piani di Artavaggio cable car parking lot, where we will take the cable car that will take us directly to the trailhead to begin the hike. With snowshoes on our feet (available for hire for just €5), we will set off to explore the Piani di Artavaggio along an easy, well-marked trail of about 5 km, with an elevation gain of 300 meters, which will reward us with spectacular views at every turn.
As we walk, we will feel like we are inside a postcard: the muffled silence of the snow, the slow progress on the white surface and a sense of peace that only the mountains in winter can give. We will be surrounded by snow-capped peaks and mountain scenery, with the famous “Pyramid” towering above the Nicola refuge, creating a breathtaking backdrop.
Halfway along the route, we will stop at the Nicola refuge, where we can enjoy a hot coffee and a slice of cake, savoring the warm hospitality and the surrounding panorama.

8:00 a.m. – Meet at the Artavaggio cable car station
Cable car ride to Artavaggio and snowshoe rental
9:00 a.m. – Start of snowshoe hike
After about 1.5 hours, arrival at the Nicola refuge and short break
1:00 p.m. – Return to the cable car; option of lunch at the refuge or return to the car.
