Our excursion will begin in the heart of the city of Lecco and, step by step, we will venture into the woods that surround Lake Como, discovering little-known and secret places that tell the story of a territory shaped by water.
The trek will take us along an ancient mule track which, although steep, will reward us at the end with one of the most spectacular views: the panoramic terrace of the Santuario della Rovinata, a peaceful place from which we can enjoy an incredible view of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
Along the way, we will follow the course of the Bione stream, discovering how water has played a key role in the development of Lecco and how it has shaped the landscape that can be admired today. There will be plenty of picturesque moments, such as crossing the stream on the Ponte della Tenaglia bridge surrounded by greenery. We will discover enchanting places such as Neguggio, with its terraces and breathtaking views of Resegone, one of the most iconic mountains. Descending back down towards the valley, we will stroll through the district of Acquate, one of the places that inspired the author of The Betrothed, discovering glimpses and stories that have marked Lecco’s culture.
Finally, we will conclude the circular trek at the starting point, after a day full of discoveries and views that will remain in our hearts. An experience that combines history, nature and beauty in an unforgettable walk!
