Our tour begins in the centre of Lecco; from here we will reach Pescate, crossing the Azzone Visconti Bridge. We will then continue uphill towards the centre of Galbiate and then continue the ascent in the direction of Nava.
This section of the route, of moderate difficulty, will take us to the entrance of the woods. Even if the slope increases, the panorama that opens up over the plain and the surrounding mountains is very rewarding.
When you reach the wood, the setting changes completely: the scent of the earth, the rustling of the leaves and the shade of the trees create a magical and regenerating environment. The ground may be uneven, but suitable for a good mountain bike.
Coming out of the forest, we will reach the Eremo of San Genesio, an ancient monastery that stands on a panoramic hill; here, we will enjoy a refreshing break and admire the view of the lake and the city of Lecco.
After lunch, we will descent along a route with more technical sections to Consonno, an old village known for its ruins and the fascinating story of its transformation into a ‘toy town’ in the 1960s.
From here we will go back to Lecco on a steep but panoramic paved road.
The tour, approximately 35 km long, is a mix of natural beauty, history and outstanding views, perfect for mountain bikers who want to explore the hills and woods around Lecco.

10:00 am – Meeting and bike check
10:30 am – Tour departure
About 12:30 pm – Arrival at San Genesio and packed lunch or at the Alpini hub (if open)
2:30 pm – Start of the descent towards Consonno and visit to the ‘toy land’
About 5:30 pm – Arrival in Lecco
