Re-composed Space: Collage in the photographic interpretation of eight authors
From 9 June 2024 to 29 June 2025
The exhibition, organised in anticipation of the upcoming 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, investigates the relationship between sport and photography. Photography bears witness not only to spectacular images of performance and victory, but also recounts glimpses of our society, depicts social moments, and represents inclusion, trust and cooperation.
Curated by Roberto Mutti, the exhibition is divided into four monographic sections in a chronological sequence, from the 1930s to the present day: from the investigation of the body by Elio Luxardo, to the black and white images of the early days of photography, to the colour images of the second half of the 20th century, focusing on spectacularity. Finally, contemporary authors interpret the values that sport represents, with images that go beyond descriptive aspects, using metaphor, symbolism and allegory.
