Photographic exhibition created by Emergency, Gruppo of Lecco and Merate. The photographs on display explore the stories of some Afghan women and their children, highlighting the challenges and hopes of a population facing difficult conditions, including stories of girls who were able to realise their dream of becoming nurses and doctors. The photos, taken by photographer Laura Salvinelli with texts by Virginia Vicario, belong to a reportage carried out in Emergency’s Maternity Centre in Anabah, in the Panjshir Valley in Afghanistan.
The exhibition itinerary, consisting of 25 photographs and 25 caption panels, accompanies us into the darkness of the delivery room where the photographs, with their particular cut, gradually reveal the details, up to the final dance of the newborn.
