BALLADE
Wednesday, 15 April 2026 – 9:00 p.m.
ELEGIA
People searching for their identity, immersed in an era of vertigo and confusion. Individuals who chart new trajectories, attempting to find their way back in an exile from normality. A tale of lost moments and relationships, of familiar images and landscapes sought in memory. A dreamlike journey to rediscover oneself, a choral dance of lines that intertwine in primordial chaos, until the return of calm, hope and a possible rebirth, celebrating care and attention towards others, amplified by the poems of Mariangela Gualtieri.
BALLADE
Mauro Bigonzetti’s new creation for the MM Contemporary Dance Company is a choral tribute to the 1980s, symbol of an era. A narrative through musical images that recovers sensations, lost euphoria and lost dreams, celebrating lifestyle, vitality and artistic creativity. Performed by the dancers of the MMCDC, the choreography is inspired by Prince, Frank Zappa, Leonard Cohen, CCCP and Pier Vittorio Tondelli, creating a space for memory and feeling. A journey through pain, love, abandonment and rebirth, in search of a renewed collective beauty.
BOLERO SOIRÉE
Friday, 15 May 2026 – 9:00 p.m.
VIVALDI UMANE PASSIONI
Michele Merola aims to express joy, anger, expectations and torments in dance with each creation, restoring the fire of passion to bodies marked by life. Between music and movement, he finds inspiration in Vivaldi, rediscovering choreographic design, and in Marc Chagall’s paintings, guided by emotions and the desire for beauty. Concertos such as La Follia and L’Estro Armonico mark universal feelings. Merola translates notes into movement with contemporary intensity, creating a harmonious dialogue between music and body that engages the viewer, exploring passions, elegance and life.
BOLERO
Bolero (1928) is a precise and seductive musical mechanism, evocative of ambiguous images of sensuality. In his new choreographic version, Merola explores the obsessive repetitiveness of the music, focusing on couple relationships and the distances between men and women, transforming fears, desires and tensions into dance. Stefano Corrias integrates three original musical fragments, highlighting the most intimate moments. The choreography becomes a non-story, an abstract fairy tale that, from the initial roll to the final explosion, conveys the pain, misunderstanding and contrasts of life, transforming Bolero into a metaphor for existence and human relationships.
