The Grignetta, or Southern Grigna, is one of the best known mountains in the Lecco Pre-Alps, but during this excursion we will have the opportunity to see its unknown side. This little-trodden but equally fascinating route will allow us to experience this mountain from a new perspective.
We will start our walk along path no. 8, known as the ‘Direttissima’, and then turn right onto a steep and poorly signposted track: the ‘Sentiero delle Capre’ (or ‘goats trail’). This path, which takes its name from its difficulty and steepness, will lead us across meadows and rocks until it joins the Cresta Cermenati, just below the summit.
Upon reaching the summit, we will be greeted by the Bivacco Ferrario, an igloo-shaped metal structure that offers shelter and a spectacular view of Lake Como, Lecco and the surrounding Alps. This is the ideal spot for a rest and to admire the panorama.
For the return journey, we will walk along the Cresta Sinigaglia, a fascinating ridge that will lead us to the Bocchetta dei Venti. From here, we will descend passing under imposing spires and towers, frequented by climbers from all over the world, until we will return to the Piani Resinelli.
