A fascinating experience that combines nature and history, discovering olive and chestnut trees and wonderful villages, unveiling the secret places of Lake Como at the slow pace of the boat: after all, why using the car, when on the lake people have sailed since the times of the ancient Romans?
Once we reach the shores, we will begin a beautiful walk admiring the places surrounding Lake Como and its imposing mountains, such as the Grigne, Resegone, and Moregallo. We will walk up leisurely between Sasso di Onno and Valbrona, first encountering terraces with the most “northern” olive trees in Italy and then signs of ancient chestnut groves. We will stop for a picnic in a beautiful clearing, an ancient hunting lodge in areas now frequented by mouflon.
Once back at lake level we will wander through the alleyways of Onno, a village that lies at the foot of the rocky outcrop called “Sasso di Onno” in the municipality of Oliveto Lario. Here we will take a journey through the history of life on the lake, including frescoes on the walls of the houses, coats of arms, portals, and protruding stones where the long ladders used in olive growing were hung.
We will return by boat to admire again, while sailing, the beauty that surrounds us in the warm afternoon light.
