Join us for a walk that will lead you to discover Acquate and Bonacina, two historic districts of the city of Lecco.
Acquate is a district with ancient origins, characterized by narrow alleys and stone houses that tell stories of a past time. Walking along its streets, we will enjoy the traditional architecture and the panorama that opens onto the river.
We will then reach the sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, where the guide will tell the history of this church and the karst caves that can be found in our territory.
From here we will reach Bonacina, where we will learn the story of the ancient mill, of the city’s industrial past, of the mountain streams, and of the local fauna and flora. We will continue up to the small church of Sant’Egidio, and then continue along the simple path along the bank of river Caldone until we reach the hydroelectric power station.
Along the way, we will also be able to spot the dipper, a bird with bright plumage that lives along these waterways. With a bit of luck, we might see it diving and swimming in the waters of the stream!
This excursion will allow us to get away from the chaos of the city and “dive” into a natural environment rich in history and beauty. Treat yourself to a regenerating escape in Acquate and Bonacina!
