Discover a unique itinerary in the heart of Lecco, combining nature, history and stunning views. This bike tour offers an unforgettable experience, perfect for those who wish to explore the city from a different perspective.
Our ride begins from the central Piazza XX Settembre: from here, following quiet side roads, we will move away from the city centre along a small scenic road, almost unused, that overlooks the picturesque districts of Rancio and Laorca. This stretch is a real treat for enthusiasts of landscapes: here we can admire a scenic view of the Lecco basin, Lake Garlate and Monte Barro, surrounded by the peacefulness of nature.
Continuing a short stretch of paved road, we will reach the highest point of our route: Ballabio. Here, in this pleasant village surrounded by greenery, we will take a well-deserved break to relax and breathe in the cool mountain air.
On the way back we will ride on a fascinating dirt track, along the road known as “della Mandria”; this ancient mule track, once forgotten and now rediscovered, tells us about the deep roots of Lecco and Valsassina. We will ride along the Cereda-Montalbano mule track, following in the footsteps of the herds that once stopped at the farms in San Giovanni district, before going up towards the pastures of Valsassina.
We will return then to the starting point in Piazza XX Settembre.
