Are you ready to live an exciting experience with us on a trekking to Monte Legnone, the highest peak overlooking Lake Como?
We will reach the Roccoli Lorla mountain cabin by car (1469 meters above sea level) and from here we will begin our hike towards the top of Monte Legnone, guided by Paolo Negri, a professional Mid Mountain Guide.
The route is approximately three and a half hours: we will follow the signs to Alpe Agrogno, located at 1644 meters, passing by mountain huts and climbing with a pleasant zigzag through the woods.
When the path gets more narrow, we will cover a stretch with safety ropes, always supported by the precious help of our guide. Once we reach Porta del Merli, at 2125 meters, the CAI Colico signs will guide us up to Ca’ de Legn, passing a large transmitting device.
From here, the hike becomes more challenging: a series of sections equipped with fixed ropes and holds will help us to overpass some rocks, making the ascent even more exciting. Following the main path, we will reach the secondary summit of Legnone placed at 2529 meters: from here, crossing a narrow ridge with fixed ropes, we will face the final challenge on the rocks that will lead us to the peak.
Here we are, finally, at the end of this challenging hike: we have reached the large cross on the top of Monte Legnone, the highest peak in the entire Lario (the nickname of Lake Como) from where we can admire a breath-taking panorama!
