The urban trekking walk starts from the district of Laorca, the highest neighbourhood in the city, the ideal starting point for discovering the hidden and fascinating corners of Lecco.
We will climb up to the caves that house the monumental cemetery, a place of great charm that tells stories of distant times and is shrouded in legend: it is said that these rocks inspired the great Leonardo da Vinci in his paintings. From the panoramic terrace near the caves, you can enjoy an unparalleled view of the city stretching as far as Lake Como.
Continuing on, we will descend gently through the narrow streets of the Laorca district until we reach the banks of the Gerenzone River, which we will follow. This river has played a fundamental role in the history of the city: water was the lifeblood of the local iron industry, which flourished thanks to the power of the streams and rivers that flow through the area.
Along the way, we will pass through other historic districts, each with its own identity and traditions, until we reach the heart of the valley: the Paradone Dam, where the crystal-clear water transforms into pools and canals, creating a unique and evocative landscape.
The walk ends in the San Giovanni district, where you will receive all the information you need to return to the starting point or reach the station and suggestions on nearby restaurants where you can enjoy local dishes.
