Get ready for an exciting hike along the Sentiero del Viandante (Wayfarer’s paht), an itinerary steeped in history and which has been an important connection bewteen Milan and Switzerland over the centuries.
Together with a mountain guide, you will walk the section of the trail from Abbadia Lariana to Lierna. This route offers lovely panoramic views of the eastern shore of Lake Como and surrounded by beautiful villages, ancient courtyards and ruins that have much to tell.
Along the way, we will encounter small mountain churches, terraces adorned with vineyards and centuries-old olive groves. Stops will provide opportunities to admire breathtaking landscapes, contemplating the beauty of the surrounding nature and capturing wonderful glimpses.
Programme
9:30 am – meeting in front of Abbadia Lariana train station (Milano Centrale 8:20 am arrival in Abbadia 9:22 am)
10:30 am – passing through the hamlet of Borbino to reach the Church of San Bartolmeo and the Church of San Giorgio di Crebbio
11:30 am – ascent to Maggiana with a visit to the Barbarossa Tower
12:30 – continuation to Rongio, with a lunch stop on a meadow
2:00 pm – crossing the river Meria and ascent to Somana
3:30 pm – continue in the direction of Saioli and San Michele di Lierna
4:00 pm – arrival at Lierna station for the return train to Abbadia Lariana (4:35 pm); for those who must go to Milan, stay on the train until Lecco (4:45 pm), change at Lecco (5:01 pm), arrival in Milan at 5:40 pm
