The new edition will take place in the provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Lecco, Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Sondrio, and Varese with a series of concerts, shows, conferences, guided tours, films, featuring internationally renowned experts and artists, and places waiting to be discovered.
The theme for 2025 is the keyword “Gothic”; used by Renaissance intellectuals in a derogatory sense, the term “Gothic” has become the symbol of an entire era characterised by the ability to construct extraordinary buildings of stone, music and thought. MedFest also explores the unruly history that this word has had in subsequent centuries, from the “Gothic novel” to architectural, artistic and musical medievalisms that took root in the mid-20th century and still live on in pop culture.
