From sharp words to biting pencils, satire has always been one of the most effective tools for describing society, exposing its hypocrisies and offering a critical, yet playful, view of power, culture and customs.

The exhibition “La satira a Lecco” (Satire in Lecco), which will be held from 6 to 21 September 2025 (opening on 5 September at 6 p.m.) in the evocative setting of the Torre Viscontea, aims to showcase the richness and variety of this language through the works and voices of ten personalities from Lecco. These characters, in different eras and using different methods, were able to turn satire into an art form and a way of thinking.

The protagonists? Librettist and poet Antonio Ghislanzoni (1824–1893), architect Mario Cereghini (1903–1976), graphic designer and caricaturist Angelo Baldo Gattinoni (1919–1996), painter Giancarlo Vitali (1929–2018), illustrator Alfredo Chiappori (1943–2022), Germano Campione (1940), director of “El Lecch Gaina”, writer Andrea Vitali (1956), actor Antonio Albanese (1964), caricaturist Claudia Chinaglia (1965), journalist and illustrator Paolo Cagnotto (1956).
