The Unnamed’s Pairs Race

The race route will pass through Somasca, the hilltop hamlet of Vercurago which is home to two major attractions: the hermitage and the Sanctuary of San Gerolamo Emiliani, and the ruins of the Castle of the Unnamed, described in Alessandro Manzoni’s *The Betrothed* as the place where Lucia was held captive.

The most distinctive part of the race is undoubtedly the Rocca dell’Innominato, an excellent vantage point from which to take in the view northwards towards Lecco and the eastern arm of Lake Como, and southwards, following the course of the River Adda towards Brianza.
