Walking along the Gerenzone river, one observes the mountain described by Stoppani. San Martino belongs to the Grigne group and bears all the characteristics so beloved by Lecco mountaineers. Walking up to the Rancio district and walking on the slopes of the mountain, one observes, on the other hand, the valley incision of the Gerenzone river, which like all rivers ‘undoes the mountains and fills the valleys’ to quote Leonardo da Vinci. The walk in stages allows us to discover panoramic views and literary texts of great beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Departure from the curve of the sun at Malavedo, arrival at Rancio Alta, easy walk in stages, total duration approx. 2.5 hours. Meeting point at bus stop no. 1 curva del sole, route and conclusion by 17.30 at the Church of Rancio Alta. It is advisable to board the bus, possibly leaving your car in Via Sora or Via Mentana, to catch bus no. 1 in Corso Matteotti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a route that starts downhill and then includes some ascents in the district’s pedestrian streets, including stretches with steps or not paved. We suggest comfortable clothing and shoes, sunscreen or a raincoat depending on the weather.
