This ancient village dates back to the <strong>Celtic period <\/strong>but the narrow streets of the old town and the ancient castle evoke a <strong>mediaeval atmosphere<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A high point of any visit to Lierna is the <strong>castle<\/strong>, a <strong>mediaeval fortress with fine frescoed walls<\/strong>. Once the home of <strong>Theodelinda<\/strong>, Queen of the Lombards, it offers <strong>breathtaking views<\/strong> of the lake and the surrounding mountains.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For nature lovers, a walk along the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leccotourism.it\/en\/sentiero-del-viandante-the-wayfarers-path\/\">Sentiero del Viandante<\/a><\/strong> is not to be missed, a scenic route that runs by the lake and offers spectacular panoramas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known as &#8220;the pearl of the lake&#8221;, the village of Lierna boasts a beach of white rocks called the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/leccotourism.it\/en\/the-best-beaches-in-the-lecco-area\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Riva Bianca<\/strong>,<\/a>&#8221; one of Lake Como\u2019s largest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lierna is a small town that lies between Mandello del Lario and Varenna on the eastern shore of Lake Como.
