The <strong>twenty-kilometre trail<\/strong> starts in Lecco city centre and offers a unique cycling experience over both dirt and paved roads, passing through beautiful <strong>mountains <\/strong>and <strong>lakes<\/strong>, as well as many <strong>cultural places of interest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The path is well-signed so it is easy to follow and suitable for people of <strong>all fitness levels<\/strong>. Numerous rest stops are provided for taking a break and enjoying the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After leaving Lecco and cycling along the Adda river towards Milan, the first stop is the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leccotourism.it\/en\/pescarenico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pescarenico <\/a><\/strong>district. The church of the <strong>former Capuchin monastery<\/strong> and the charming <strong>Piazza Era,<\/strong> home to some fine restaurants, are well worth a visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trail continues along the left bank to Lake Garlate and Vercurago, the location of the remains of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leccotourism.it\/en\/the-castle-of-the-unnamed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Castle of the Unnamed<\/a><\/strong> and the <strong>Sanctuary of San Girolamo<\/strong>, both settings in Manzoni&#8217;s famous novel &#8220;The Betrothed.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The route then heads towards <strong>Calolziocorte <\/strong>on Lake Olginate, where the <strong>Monastery of Santa Maria del Lavello<\/strong> can be admired, before crossing the former railway bridge of Lavello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second part of the route continues along the shores of Lake Olginate and arrives at <strong>Garlate<\/strong>, the site of the <strong>Abegg Civic Museum of Silk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trail then crosses the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/leccotourism.it\/en\/ponte-azzone-visconti\/\">Azzone Visconti Bridge<\/a><\/strong> before heading back to Lecco along the lakeside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This route is accessible all year round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201cAnello dei laghi\u201d is a cycling route around the two lakes of Garlate and Olginate.
