Monte Barro, a green island of biodiversity, nature and history

Monte Barro is a precious nature reserve in the Lombardy Pre-Alps that preserves a treasure trove of biodiversity with its rich flora and fauna. From Monte Barro, you can enjoy an incredible 360° panoramic view of the surrounding landscape, from the hills of Brianza to the Adda valley, from Monte Resegone and the Grigne group to the eastern arm of Lake Como and the Po Valley. Monte Barro is a must-see for lovers of sport climbing: the Falesia (cliff) in Galbiate is one of the most popular in the Lecco area thanks to its wide choice of routes and its panoramic position overlooking Lake Annone.

Monte San Martino, mountain landscapes a short walk from the city

Located in the Grigne Group of the Orobian Alps, Monte San Martino, at 1,090 metres above sea level, offers a spectacular view of Lecco and Lake Como. It was even mentioned by Alessandro Manzoni in his novel “The Betrothed” and features a vertical wall that towers above the city, giving incredible views of the entire area.

Piani Resinelli, a belvedere over Lecco and its lakes

The Piani Resinelli, the perfect escape from the city, boasts amazing views ranging from the Rhaetian Alps to Monte Rosa, over the city of Lecco, Lake Como and the plains all the way to Milan. A thirty-minute walk leads to a suspended walkway at a height of twelve metres that was inaugurated in 2021: a unique experience suspended in mid-air with a panoramic view of Lecco and its lakes.

Monte Magnodeno, stunning 360-degree views

Monte Magnodeno, part of the Resegone group, soars 1,241 metres into the sky and is particularly popular among hikers because of its accessibility and wide routes. The top of Magnodeno welcomes hikers with a large metal cross and a cabin of the National Alpine Association (ANA) of Maggianico, a small emergency shelter opened thanks to the work of volunteers. From there, the view is unrivalled. It ranges from the city to the Brianza lakes and beyond, as far as the Swiss Alps and south to the Po Valley. An exceptional panorama that is well worth the effort of the climb!

Don’t miss the opportunity to discover these amazing viewpoints and experience unforgettable moments with family or friends on a day of walking, relaxation and fun in the Lecco mountains.
