The city of Lecco has always fascinated tourists, welcoming them with its unique landscape: the calm waters of Lake Como contrasting with the steep peaks and cliffs that surround and overlook the city.
Lakes, rivers and mountains create wonderful romantic scenery that has inspired visitors from all over the world over the centuries and still attracts many nature-loving tourists today.
Nowadays, this beautiful natural landscape is even more enriched by remarkable monuments and splendid architecture. These include, for example, the famous Bell Tower of the Basilica di San Nicolò, the symbol of the city, but also many other important buildings such as castles, towers, fortresses and buildings of industrial architecture such as the old spinning mills.
During this exciting bike tour, you will also visit the city’s best panoramic viewpoints to appreciate the different views that change depending on the angle and light of day. The guide will also illustrate the historical peculiarities of the monuments and places at each stop.
Starting from the Pescarenico district, we will cycle northwards along the cycle-pedestrian path along the Adda river and Lake Como, with an initial stop on the floating jetty offering an incredible view of the city’s lakefront and lake landscape.
Cycling along the lake, we will reach Pradello area, where we will have a close look at the imposing cliff face overlooking the lake; we will then head back towards the city centre, stopping at the monuments of Punta Maddalena. We will then visit Piazza Cermenati and Piazza XX Settembre with the Basilica of San Nicolò and its bell tower, the embarcadero and the castle. The tour will continue across the bridge to the centre of Malgrate, the village opposite Lecco. Here, you will be able to admire a wonderful panorama of the town with Mount Resegone in the background, with its unique and unmistakable shape. From here, we will return to Pescarenico, the starting point, crossing Ponte Vecchio and following the Rivabella cycle path.
