Laorca Cemetery
A natural panoramic amphitheatre among the rocks
This cemetery, like the one in the Laorca district, is part of the European Cemeteries Route promoted by the Association of Significant Cemeteries of Europe (ASCE) and can be reached by a short walk from the city centre.
The entrance and a memorial chapel in the “New Cemetery”, inaugurated on 6 August 1882, are in the Liberty style.
Among the alleys arranged according to an orthogonal layout, different sculptures can be discovered created by various well-known artists, such as Francesco Confalonieri, Giulio Branca, Giannino Castiglioni, Romano Rui, Pablo Atchugarry and Giuseppe Mozzanica.
