Laorca Cemetery

The Cemetery of the Laorca district is well worth the journey to get there: it is located in a very evocative natural setting. 

Amidst caves, ravines and little chapels that create a kind of natural amphitheatre, the cemetery houses various private chapels from the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century. Here, the ancient cemetery church of San Giovanni ai Morti and the chapels of the Via Crucis can also be seen. 

A splendid panorama of the city of Lecco and Lake Como can be enjoyed from the nearby terracing. This cemetery, along with the Monumental Cemetery of Lecco, is part of the European Cemeteries Route promoted by the Association of Significant Cemeteries of Europe (ASCE).
