The Pozze di Erve are one of the most popular destinations in the San Martino Valley: a series of natural pools created by the Gallavesa stream, where smooth rocks, crystal-clear waters and small pebble beaches offer the perfect retreat to cool off on hot summer’s days. The path, which winds through a picturesque rocky woodland, offers a rejuvenating experience in close contact with nature.

A paradise for families and relaxation

Access to the Pozze di Erve is extremely easy, making them perfect for a day out with the children. Setting off from the village of Erve and following the course of the stream, you can easily reach the first pools: wide, shallow pools of water, perfect for children to have fun in and for anyone looking for a relaxing day away from the summer heat.

From the pools to the peaks: a trek towards Mount Resegone and Mount Magnodeno

For those wishing to combine the coolness of the stream with a pleasant walk, the path continues towards Gnett. Here, a wide meadow opens up, offering a splendid view of Mount Resegone – the ideal spot for a refreshing break, thanks also to the presence of a refreshment point.

As you continue the climb, you come to the San Carlo Spring, a peaceful spot equipped with tables and benches. Next to the icon of the saint, a wooden plaque invites contemplation, reminding passers-by of the profound tranquillity that only the silence of the mountains can offer: “Pass calmly amidst the noise and haste, but remember how much peace there can be in the silence of the mountains”.

The Pozze di Erve are also the starting point for more experienced hikers wishing to explore the Lecco peaks. Leaving the murmur of the stream behind, experienced hikers can set off along paths that climb towards the Capanna degli Alpinisti Monzesi (Capanna Monza), a crucial and historic hub for exploring the entire southern slope of the Resegone. From this vantage point, the adventure can continue towards the iconic peak of our region: an ascent leading up to the Azzoni Refuge and the summit of Resegone, where the view stretches across the entire Alpine arc. Alternatively, you can choose to walk towards the picturesque Passo del Fò, a scenic route offering unforgettable views of the Pre-Alps before reaching the summit of Monte Magnodeno.

From the cool, clear waters to the trails leading up to the peaks, the Pozze di Erve offer the ideal setting for those seeking nature, relaxation and mountain walks.
