The ski slopes in the Lecco area are ideal for alpine skiing and snowboarding: several mountain resorts offer facilities and runs suitable for every level of experience.
Piani di Bobbio – Valtorta ski area
With 36 km of slopes, the Piani di Bobbio – Valtorta ski area is one of the main destinations for skiing in the province of Lecco and nearby areas. Suitable for beginners, families with children and experienced skiers alike, it offers 16 slopes served by 12 lift systems. Visitors can choose between gentle runs or more technical descents, such as the panoramic Orscellera slope, also appreciated for its remarkable views stretching as far as Milan on clear days, or the impressive Tre Signori descent at the foot of the peak of the same name.
Beginner and children’s slopes
Beginners and younger skiers can learn to ski safely on dedicated baby slopes equipped with moving walkways, available at Piani di Bobbio, Piani di Artavaggio, Pian delle Betulle, Cainallo and Alpe Giumello.
Bobbio Park: the snowpark in the Province of Lecco
For snowboard and freestyle enthusiasts, Bobbio Park is designed to meet every expectation. Located at the arrival point of the first chairlift at Piani di Bobbio, the park covers an area of 1,500 square metres and features structures for training and performances across five different levels, with routes tailored to different skill levels.

Cross-country skiing: routes and loops in the Lecco area
For those who prefer a slower pace, cross-country skiing offers the chance to explore snow-covered landscapes in a more relaxed and immersive way. In the Lecco area, fans of this Nordic discipline can enjoy numerous trails and looped routes suitable for all levels of experience.
The main cross-country ski trails
Among the most well-known routes are the Rododendro loop at Piani di Bobbio and the Tre Signori loop in Ceresola (Valtorta): both feature technical variations suitable for all abilities and offer varied, scenic trails.
In Cortabbio di Primaluna there is a 2.5 km loop certified for national competitions, while in Cainallo cross-country skiers can follow a loop of almost 3 km winding through woodland, offering unique views over the Triangolo Lariano and Lake Como.
Finally, at Alpe Giumello it is possible to ski a 3 km circuit, where every January the “Alaskan Malamute Sleddog Day” takes place, featuring canine education sessions, trial sled rides for children, dog trekking and sleddog routes, as well as non-competitive races.
